I love making projects with my kids that can be used as holiday gifts and this Rudolph Gift Card Holder is no exception! Made with a recycled toilet paper tube, this tutorial not only works on manual dexterity and childhood creativity but also teaches a great lesson on reusing materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Win/win for everyone!
I used mine as a gift card holder but really, you can fill it with any gift small enough to fit within the tube. Small toys or even wrapped candies would be a super cute gift for your kids to give their friends. I’d love to hear any other ideas you have!
Rudolph Gift Card Holder
Materials:
- Toilet Paper Tube
- Red Pom Pom
- Green Oly*Fun
- Googly Eyes
- Mini Stapler
- Red/White Baker’s Twine
- 1/16 Hole Punch
Instructions:
1. Using the image below as a general guideline, cut the antler shapes from the top of the tube.
2. Cut a small strip of the green Oly*Fun and wrap it around the base of the tube. Staple the “scarf” in place. Oly*Fun is seriously one of my new favorite products to craft with! It has the feel of a fabric with the convenience of paper. Love this stuff!
3. Glue the nose and googly eyes in place. Add a mouth and cut the back of the antlers so that they can fold out.
4. Punch a small hole at the top, insert a gift card, and close with a gift tag and twine.
Ready to give!
Such an easy gift to make and give, right? You could trim the twine if you plan on giving the gift by hand or leave it long if you want to surprise a neighbor or co-worker and hang it on their door. As mentioned above, you can fill the tube with any small gift or treat! Hope you and your kids enjoy making your own Rudolph Gift Card Holder!

Cute! I love that you found a way to creatively make a gift card holder out of something that normally would get thrown away.

I just tossed away a TP roll, but I’m digging it out of the trash can so I can make these with my son. The cutest craft I’ve seen in a long time!

Hi Vanessa, What a clever way to up cycle a paper roll instead of tossing it in the trash. I’m going to add this to my “kid craft” list, because I know my helpers would have fun making your cute reindeer!
