Christmas is just around the corner, and even though I love the season, I’ll be the first to acknowledge that I may get a bit irritable because of all the stress. From school performances to buying gifts to Christmas morning brunch…I’m totally going to need these Calming Christmas Bath Salts before the season is over!

How cute are these little mason jar ornaments, and aren’t they perfect for filling with bath salts for an easy, inexpensive gift? I designed this “Stressed, Blessed, and Christmas Obsessed” file in Adobe Illustrator to fit on them, but there are many great ways to use the cut file (for personal projects only, please!) I’m totally planning on making a T-shirt with it! Or maybe an apron? Or some wall decor? What about tote bags? The options are endless!

Calming Christmas Bath Salts

Materials:

• Fillable Clear Mason Jar Ornaments
• Sea Salt
• Epsom Salt
• Essential Oils (you can blend your own or buy a pre-mixed Calming Blend)
• Vinyl (Series 51 is my absolute favorite)
• Free “Stressed, Blessed, and Christmas Obsessed” File
• Cricut Maker 3
• Embellishments (optional)

Step 1. Cut the free file, weed, and use transfer tape to assemble. I’m pretty partial to my Cricut machines, but you’re welcome to use a Brother or Silhouette machines too!

Step 2. Transfer to the mason jar ornament and press to secure.

Step 3. Mix equal portions of sea and Epsom salt. Blend in 20 drops of essential oils. You may want to add more depending on how fragrant you want the salts. I tried to keep the salts white so that the lettering on the ornament would “pop,” but you can add bath-safe coloring dye if you’d like! Fill the ornament with bath salts.

Step 4. You can give the ornaments as is or add a few extra embellishments to make it more festive. I used hot glue to add some holly leaves and a red bell for the finishing touches! (NOTE: The ornament will be kinda heavy when filled with bath salts, so I highly suggest adding some hot glue to the wire hook on top to secure it more)

Step 5. After the hot glue has hardened completely, tie a ribbon to the top, and you’re done!

I love that these ornaments are cute to look at and will be helpful during the stressful holiday season. I don’t know about you guys, but a nice long hot soak does wonders for this frazzled mama! Let me know if you have any secrets to maintaining sanity in the coming months. I could totally use them!

2. Gather Supplies: Grab some dry-erase markers and play clay in various colors. Make sure you have a clean surface to work on.
3. Let the Fun Begin: Place the activity mats before your kids and let their creativity soar. Whether designing jack-o’-lantern faces, arranging leaves, or filling up the truck with produce, they will have a blast.

Contrary to what this blog post might suggest, I love it when my kids are bored! It’s essential for kids to get bored during the summer as it stimulates their creativity and imagination. They’re encouraged to develop their ideas and activities, fostering independent thinking and problem-solving skills when not constantly entertained. Additionally, boredom allows children to manage their time and explore their interests. It sparks curiosity, leading them to seek new experiences and develop a stronger sense of identity and purpose.

My kids have stopped telling me they’re bored because they know my reaction will be, “You are? That’s awesome!” That isn’t very pleasant to the pre-teen and teen crowd, but that’s how I feel. Some of my best ideas happen when my brain doesn’t hear the constant noise of modern living. I want my kids to know what it feels like to be alone with their thoughts and allow those thoughts to roam free sometimes.

Of course, there are times during the summer when I need a quick way to entertain my youngest, so I designed this Printable Mini Summer Activity Booklet. Whether it’s waiting for an appointment or on a long road trip, this little booklet is perfect for keeping them engaged!

Once the file has been downloaded, just print and cut along the dotted line. Fold the paper in half along the cut slat and then continue to fold the paper in fours until you can create the mini booklet.
